130:1 <> Out of the {a} depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. (a) Being in great distress and sorrow. 130:3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, {b} who shall stand? (b) He declares that we cannot be just before God but by forgiveness of sins. 130:4 But [there is] forgiveness with thee, that thou {c} mayest be feared. (c) Because by nature you are merciful therefore the faithful revere you. 130:7 Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD [there is] {d} mercy, and with him [is] plenteous redemption. (d) He shows to whom the mercy of God belongs, that is, Israel, to the Church and not the reprobate. |
